Mr. Collura was appointed CEO of Specialty Risk RE in 2024 and also serves as a member of the firm’s board of directors and underwriting committee. He began his career in financial services in 1999, working as a financial advisor and banker at firms such as Ameritrade, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo Bank. In 2011, he founded a boutique corporate advisory firm specializing in structured finance, debt, and management solutions. During this time, he was also active in the Oil & Gas sector, completing acquisitions involving both public and private companies. Mr. Collura holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska, where he was a Regents Scholar, and attended Creighton University School of Law.
Mr. Smith joined Specialty Risk RE in 2024 and serves as a member of the firm’s board of directors and underwriting committee. With over 30 years of experience in insurance, broking, and reinsurance, he has held roles as an executive, founder, and investor. In 2007, he founded a Lloyd’s broking firm specializing in providing London Market capacity to cedants and MGAs worldwide. He led the company as CEO until its sale to a private equity firm in 2022, remaining in the role until 2023. Earlier in his career, Mr. Smith held various positions at London-based broking and insurance firms. He holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Mining Engineering from Imperial College.
Ms. Takvoryan was appointed Chief Legal Officer of Specialty Risk RE in 2024 and serves as a member of the firm’s board of directors and underwriting committee. In addition, she is the Chief Legal Officer at a global Swiss-based private equity firm. With over 20 years of legal expertise, she specializes in corporate securities, restructuring, M&A transactions (both domestic and cross-border), and corporate governance. Ms. Takvoryan has served extensively as outside general counsel for clients and has been a partner at both boutique and large international law firms. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated cum laude from Occidental College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs.
